A Sweet Suite!

Liked:This is an excellent hotel near Milwaukee. The rooms are very well maintained. Our room was #304. If we were staying longer we would have used the appliances in the suite. Hence, there was no breakfast, which was dissappointing.

If you value your senses I would give this one a pass.

Liked:The BAD: - The pillowcases and sheets somehow manage to smell both like feces and bleach, it is horrendous. - The bathroom fan does not work. -If you are in a suite, there is only one air unit which is in the main living area, there is a fairly loud fan in the wall that blows the cold air into the bedroom. It does not regulate temperature well so you have to keep the door open which is not ideal If there are people sleeping on the pull out sofa. - Normal or not, housekeeping only comes once a week and you have to bring your own towels downstairs in order to swap them out for clean ones. - There is an obnoxious buzzing noise (like a dryer or a million fluorescent lights) throughout the entryway and most of the downstairs common area. - The elevator smells like body odor. It’s just not peaceful or clean feeling here and we will definitely not be back. The Good; - The desk clerk was friendly and helpful - the suite layout and size was large and comfortable for our lengthy stay. (Currently still here) - wi-Fi connected quickly, which was great for work - someone put tape over the flashing light of the smoke detector, which would have been obnoxious since it’s in the bedroom. (on the downside, there was another piece of tape as well, so hopefully it wasn’t covering a sensor because people wanted to smoke here) - they provide a decent cooking area with pots and pans, plates, and utensils as well as a dishwasher. Always nice not to have to eat out every meal you are away and can enjoy some home cooking.

Business Customer Wrongfully Evicted

Liked:My company stayed here and intended to stay long term while we look for housing. During our stay we found the AC did not work in which took well over 24 hours to get anyone to just look at it or make other accommodations. Upon my complaint the owner of the hotel chose to evict me. We weren’t being obnoxious, noisy nor doing anything illegal nor disruptive. Events we saw happening here were *Weed in hallways *Empty store pantry *Broken refrigerators *Cars broken into *Nasty rooms *Outdated building *Hot hallways *Broken washer and dryer *TV didn’t work *Rude Rude owner *Coffee condiments unavailable Evictions if you complain I’ve never stayed at an IHG hotel like this before. Been an IHG member since 2013

Good, Except for One Thing

Liked:We stayed here once before 6 or 7 years ago and the rooms have had a nice update since. Mattresses are very comfortable. However, there is one BIG problem: right over the bed is a smoke detector. Every second or so, it flashes a bright green LED. Then once or twice a minute, two of these lights come on and stay on for about two seconds. You will see these lights All. Night. Long. We encountered this same problem in a different IHG property once and they were able to contact the alarm vendor to get this remedied. I hope this Candlewood can do the same, because I can't stay here again otherwise.
