Unfortunately not for us

Liked:Very old fashioned hotel, unfortunately it lacks some TLC. Our room was very outdated, dust covered the pipes that were on view around the sink in the bathroom, frame around the bath was broken, cracks visible, furniture was extremely outdated. We did get a good night's sleep as bed are comfortable, was surprised at how close to the main road we were but traffic didn't bother us which I was very glad about. Net or a blind on the windows would be great especially with a carpark outside and a main road, just to give a bit of privacy feeling to the room especially with young kids. The breakfast room is like something from an old Stena Line ship, awful brown and red colours throughout, breakfast was nice, missing little things like only white sliced bread available to toast, no brown or soda bread or small rolls available, I noticed a food menu the night before for dinner that stated soup available with a roll and soda bread, these would be a nice touch at breakfast, no breakfast menu so didn't realise that pancakes are available until a staff member asked if our kids would like some. The staff are really lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately we wouldn't return as personally it's not for us

Very enjoyable 2 night stay

Liked:A short walk from Lucan village. Rooms very nice with tea available in room, bed very comfortable. Vending machine in lobby. Hotel clean, staff very helpful, slight old building smell in some parts of the hotel. No noise a night. The food and price of room, well it is in Dublin, but the food was good. En suite in my room was small and access to shower was tight.

Home away from home

Liked:Born and raised in Lucan so I have a long history with the Spa Hotel, from playing in the surrounding woods as a child to going to the "no name" disco as a teenager, in later life I moved down to county Clare but still have alot of family in Lucan and visit there often and the Spa Hotel has become my home away from home,I cannot say enough about the treatment I receive when I am there always such a relaxed atmosphere with the friendliest staff one could imagine, from having a few pints with a late dinner in their extremely comfortable dinning area/bar then to retire to one of their welcoming homely suites upstairs to an excellent breakfast in the morning 5 stars as always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Manager was very rude

Liked:Very disappointed to say we attended an abba tribute at spa hotel when we arrived we were left one seat short at the table we approached an manager by the name Alison(sheridan) and she spoke very rude and was very unhelpful when we proceeded to explain we also worked in hospitality and we understood how functions work her answer was 'good for you' we were utterly disappointed and disgusted at such behaviour from a manager at a family owned hotel and no apology for the mix up on seats was ever received. Besides Alisons behaviour the wait staff were lovely and very efficient it, was such a pity she could have really approached the situation in a much more professional matter.
