Freezing!

Liked:Went for lunch & the bar was absolutely freezing! The place is being renovated but no excuse to be serving food when it's so cold inside!

Da Vinci's cancelled booking hours before due to arrive.

Liked:Booked for Saturday the 7th March for one night in a family room. An email arrived out of the the blue the day before in the late afternoon (Fri 6th) to say the hotel was closed for renovations and wouldn't open till 16th March! Absolutely horrified....no apologetic phone call to explain, just a Friday evening email drop. Scrambled to find another hotel with availability and ended up paying nearly three times the price quoted by Da Vinci's . Beyond angry and absolutely NO chance we'll ever stay here in the future. Beware! If you've important plans....don't be surprised that they'll pull the plug on your booking just a few hours before arrival. Callous and awful "business " practice.

Sad decline of a popular spot

Liked:This was only a drop in to the bar when passing by so I cannot comment on the whole hotel. First thing to note though is that the car park is a death trap!!! Full of huge pot holes and rough surfacing you could either break your ankle or wreck your car in. The bar area was cold and drafty with loud live music in the middle of the day. Although the music was fine the volume pumping out of the speakers above was beyond tolerable if you wanted to have any conversation. Food menu is limited and an error in the order was not rectified in any way by the staff member that took it. I did not want to protest to someone who was bluntly not taking any part in their mistake so I will just not return. This was previously a very popular spot in town but it has clearly lost its vibe. I hope the management can redeem it for the future.

Staff night out.

Liked:I went there on a staff works do and had the best night in a long time!! The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly. I would recommend it. I’d be quite happy to go back and do it all again. Thank you.
