READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING. Don’t waste your money

Liked:The main house building is beautiful, and it’s very secluded from its surroundings.

Disliked:I did not like the service at all. There’s is a certain type of service for foreigners and another one for Portuguese citizens. As a dual citizen, married to a British man, I can personally attest to the difference in treatment when I address the staff in the local language vs in English: - From being made feel unwelcome in the breakfast patio (outdoors) in a bathrobe having returned from the pool, while there were foreign guests in their bikinis enjoying their morning coffee and were not warned about anything. - from the unfriendly guest relations staff that looked me up and down and when I asked for informations regarding tours, and her rude response was to ask me if I was actually staying in the hotel - from the time waiting for room service requests when these are asked in Portuguese vs English Other relevant remarks: - lack of proactive refill of in room amenities - during check out. we had to carry our own bags to reception after having waited 30min, mind you most guests will stay in a main building which is far from the hotel suites Honorable mentions: The kindness of the breakfast/ dinner maitre, he is a very knowledgeable about the history of the building and is extremely friendly

All children under 12 can only access the Spa pool when accompanied by an adult. Guests should specify their preference for bedding for any type of room prior to arrival. This includes requests for extra beds and the number of adults and children under 12 years old. This information should be noted in the Special Requests Box during booking and is subject to confirmation by the hotel. For bookings of 9 or more rooms, the hotel will charge a nonrefundable prepayment of 50% of the entire reservation on the guest's credit card. When booking half board, note that drinks are not included. A deposit may be required at the property.
