Stay and Dining Experience

Liked:I am writing to file a complaint regarding our recent stay at this hotel. Value for money: Overall unsatisfactory given the price paid. Positive aspects: The housekeeping and Front Office staff were very friendly and helpful. There were also some activities available for families. Maintenance and cleanliness: The hotel is in urgent need of attention. The rooms showed cleaning shortfalls — dirty glass surfaces, a poorly cleaned shower, and a TV and telephone (for contacting reception) that did not always work. The public areas showed clear lack of maintenance: peeling paint, pool lighting with exposed wiring, cloudy water, and dirty mattresses. Dinner incident (first day): We had dinner on the first day at the buffet, priced at €40 per person, for a group of 7. While serving myself paella, I found a fly fully cooked into the food. I called the waiter over, who fetched a cook. When I explained what had happened, he took the plate from me and walked back toward the kitchen without a word. A second cook then came out, and I explained the situation to him again — his response was to laugh and say "it's normal, we're in an area with a lot of flies." I pushed back on this, as I did not consider it acceptable, and the cook then called over the floor manager, who listened to the exchange without stepping in appropriately. I explained the situation a third time, by now visibly upset, and walked away. At no point did anyone apologize — neither the kitchen staff nor the floor manager. I find these standards of quality and service shameful. I do not recommend dining at this hotel.
