Liked:Second year in a row staying at this small property. The staff are exceptional, and the food is fantastic. The location is also excellent, allowing you to access the small road that leads to the center of Lamai.

This is like living in a Thai palace , the buildings and gardens are fabulous, the staff are fun and kind.

Liked:This is a very beautiful property, designed like a Thai temple or palace. It is exceptional, quiet and relaxing. Decor is a bit tired in places but nothing a good maintenance team couldn’t quickly sort out. Some basic upgrading and painting is required. The breakfast room has wonderful staff but is a dark traditional room on a bright sunny morning with tired old piano music playing on a loop. It’s bleak. Put a breakfast kitchen (egg station) in the beach front restaurant and serve from there - provide a better experience for guests. There’s new management but they need to be innovative and shake things up a bit. The pool villa is fantastic.

Disliked:The beach bar/restaurant is under used, there is no life to the place. Such a shame as it has a wonderful location on the beach and is built in a lovely traditional style. There’s nothing like it along the whole beach and it should be attracting a lot of attention. Instead, it looks closed, especially in the evenings. Play some good music (not the rap music we experienced), bring some atmosphere into the place and have an easy going menu. Bring it to life! The bar staff although very pleasant just lack the personality to sustain a busy bar/restaurant. It will need direction to succeed.

Disliked:The hotel is worn-out and needs reconstruction badly. The beach front restaurant is not used at all to its full potential, such a shame.
