Honeymoon - first trip to Maldives

Liked:I have recently returned from honeymoon and my first trip to the Maldives and safe to say the island resort of Kuredu has left an indelible mark and fantastic memories with a desire to return as quickly as possible. We visited out of peak season, and whilst there were plenty of heavy showers, they blew through surprisingly quickly and mostly we had good, sunny weather and now have a lovely tropical tan. I wouldn't be concerned coming out of peak season again in the future. The island scenary is phenomenal and I much preferred the North Side of the island as visually it is more picturesque, natural and quieter. The snorkeling/diving is amazing and as well as the house reef, there are some fantastic dive sites nearby through an excursion by ProDivers. The house reef is okay and will certainly keep you mesmerised, you really dont have to swim out far or look hard to find the Green and Hawksbill Turtles which were incredible to watch. Even in the shallow reef just off shore we saw so many varieties of colourful fish including sharks, rays, squid, and octopus. Beware of the big yellow Titan Trigger fish as these are probably the only things likely to bite you if you swim over or near them. One suggestion would be better signage in people's room and perhaps on the main lagoon beach to advise people not to try touch or swim and chase turtles as I witnessed a few people disregarding this advice. The cleanliness and service of the rooms was good and plenty of bottled water is provided every day. The service provided by the waiters and chefs was exceptional, they were super friendly, welcoming, and engaging. A big thank you to both Suparna and Ananth for their warmth, they will be missed and a credit to the resort. The food in the self-service buffet restaurants was really high quality and standard with lots of choice and a rotating menu every day. The desserts were especially delicious! A suggestion for improvement here would be to insist people sanitise their hands on the way in as the vast majority of people would walk past the dispensers. Sadly, my only small gripe with the resort was a mandatory dress code for the restaurants that is somewhat archaic and discriminatory. I suffer with hyperhidrosis so struggle regulating heat. The dress code mandates (and actively enforced) that men's arms cannot be exposed however, for women, most donned strappy tops or vests with their arms exposed. I also saw some women wearing gym wear or translucent serongs for all to see despite violating the dress code and yet seemingly this was permissible and not enforced. So the suggestion here would be either relax the dress code for men to afford them the same level of comfort as women, or simply apply the policy consistently for both men and women. The seaplane transfers were faultless and an experience in their own right. There were resort staff at the airport to assist you with luggage, direction and guidance so they really do look after you from arrival in Male to departure. All in all, Kuredu is a beautiful island resort with exceptional, happy staff and represents really great value for money. I will miss walking around this island every day and I look forward to returning one day. I thoroughly recommend this resort, and anyone generally considering visiting the Maldives out of season - you won't be disappointed.

Liked:This our second Visit as a family of 3. Travelling with an 8 year old. The first thing I want to mention is all of the restaurant staff remembered us!!! How lovely is this. When we walked in they all approached us and said welcome home. The waitress team we had were even more amazing if that is even possible than 2025… We had a beach villa this year which made a big difference on space and was stunning.. Every member of staff went out of their way to assist us and you can really recognise the difference in service compared to europe. The prodiving centre needs a huge shout out.. My daughter was looking forward to being old enough to attend the Bubble maker course. Hampus took her out and was truly amazing with her.. It made the holiday experience extra special and she is still telling everyone just how special the holiday was. All of the team Ali Martha and Hampus really make sure that you get the best experience of the ocean if Diving, snorkeling, boat trips is what you want to do whilst you are there. For us Hampus, made the holiday for our little girl.
