Some Great Updates Are Being Made Here. Pool Area Already Outstanding.

Liked:We were in Kaua'i for our second time in August 2026. We stayed in Princeville on the north shore this time and decided to come down and explore the west side (Waimea Canyon) and south shore. Instead of driving all the way down and back, we booked a room at this property using a mix of points and cash. We were given an upgraded ocean front room (9102). All the rooms at this property are "suites" in that they have multiple beds/bedrooms and a common space. This property is undergoing a major renovation to each room and building. Our room was located in Building 9, on the Shipwreck beach side, and it appears that this building had been completely renovated. At least our room was and it was beautiful. A few hiccups here and there with the construction happening around us, but any issues/concerns that we had were well taken care of by Erin at the front desk. The pool area is beautiful as it is surrounded by sand. The pool bar staff was outstanding and we found the prices on food and drinks to be more than fair. We were able to talk to Poipu one morning and see a great sunrise along the way and also take an easy walk over to Shipwreck. There is a small locker room located near the pool that came in handy for getting cleaned up before our evening flight on the day that we left. There is no doubt this place will be great once the updates/construction are done and the next time we are in the area we will not hesitate to book. Mahalo Erin and team.

Don’t stay here

Liked:Location was amazing, the rooms were gross. Dark brown carpets, yellow walls, evidence of mildew and rust, air conditioning units that leak, cabinets were in dire need of replacement. This is obviously a very old property that was acquired by Hilton and quickly opened without any renovation or improvement. The staff was lovely, but for over $1000 a night, it was a horrible mistake.

Nice place for a family with ok facilities

Liked:I stayed at a 2 bedroom unit for the last week of July in Building 4. Location: The Point at Poipu is in a centralized location. It's right next door to the Grand Hyatt but doesn't have it's own beach access. There is a walking path that links to the Grand Hyatt beach. However, right in front of the Point at Poipu is some rocky bluff. As for the location, there are plenty of good places for shopping and restaurants within 10 minutes drive. It is about 45 minutes south of the Lihue airport. Facility: The other reviews are right. This location is a bit old and many of the rooms are undergoing renovation. We got a renovated room and it's nice but nothing special to write home about. It can comfortable sleep 6 with a sofa bed. Room - the 2 room were a decent size. One had a king size bed (very comfortable) and the other had 2 twin size beds. There's a sofa bed in the living room. The one limitation is that there are only 2 wall AC units (one in each room). This means the living room can get a little warm. Each room has plenty of USB A and USB C plugs that are part of the lamps or built into the dressers. Each room had a large TV. The room comes with a washer/dryer, pots, pans, electric range / oven, and microwave. Plenty of utensil and plates, cups, etc. There is one large pool that's more of a play pool and lounging. Building 4 is more near the adult hot tub and is a bit of a walk to the main pool. There is a fitness room which has plenty of equipment. There are cardio and plenty of weight machines. The facility has plenty of outdoor grills that get cleaned every morning which is great. We used them all the time. Hint: They have filter water stations all over the facility so no need to purchase a bunch of water. For kids, the front desk hands out fish food that the kids can use to feed the fish in the ponds. My kids had so much fun just doing this.
