A relaxing and enjoyable stay with excellent Sri Lankan cuisine, outstanding staff & good facilities

Liked:We had a wonderful stay at Avani Kalutara. The location is beautiful, the property is spacious, clean, and very well maintained, making it a relaxing place to unwind. The food was excellent, especially the Sri Lankan dishes. The crab curry served with Sri Lankan roast bread was absolutely delicious and a standout meal during our stay. I highly recommend trying it. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and very well trained, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Another highlight was the 24-hour gym, which is well equipped and convenient for guests who like to work out at any time of the day. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I would happily recommend Avani Kalutara to anyone looking for a relaxing beach resort with great hospitality and excellent local cuisine.

Disliked:One area for improvement is the room description on Booking.com. My room was marketed as having a "lagoon view," but from the room I stayed in, there wasn't really a view of the lagoon. When sitting by the window or on the balcony, the view was mainly of the lawn, with the lagoon not visible in any meaningful way. I would suggest describing these rooms more accurately so guests know what to expect. Clearer room titles or descriptions would help avoid disappointment and ensure expectations match the actual view.

Perfect and great value for money.

Liked:Great value for money. Fantastic gym at the Avani (interestingly it is better than the nearby Anantara gym). Nice to be able to share some facilities with the Anantara. Staff is very friendly.

Disliked:Sometime service can be slow but made up by the fact that everyone was so friendly and genuinely wanted to be helpful. Maybe I’m just impatient 🥲
