Liked:DO NOT take a room on the top floor!! Specifically rooms 401/402/403. Risky in rooms 301/302/304. Even the second floor poses its risks of getting no sleep. Although this hotel has a restaurant space on the ground level, they have opted to put the breakfast room on the top (5th) floor. The reasoning is that it has a view of the city and Bosporus, which it does, hidden behind a slough of not-so-pretty rooftops. What they’ve effectively done, however, is sacrificed at least 6 good rooms, for paying guests who want to sleep, in favour of a breakfast room with tiled floors and wooden chairs with nothing to dampen the sound. People, I cannot begin to describe how loud it gets. Although the location is perfect, and the staff mean so well, the no sleep factor makes the Tan Hotel a terrible choice. Also, it you have hotels.com perks, like free drinks at the property, forget about them. There’s no such thing. There’s also a very weird protruding spout in the toilets that, if you sit “wrong” will assault and sully your privates. Lastly, although breakfast is served until 11, please see the pictures of what’s left at 10.
