Disliked:The spa was not as expected. The pool and sauna were quite small and dated. It could use a good thorough cleaning. The rubber mat at the pool was filled with dirty black and mouldy water. The bench in the steamroom was mouldy.

Disliked:Feedback Regarding Afternoon Tea Experience I am writing to share feedback regarding the Afternoon Tea service that my wife and I attended at the Pera Palace Hotel. We chose this experience expecting the elegance, refinement, and attention to detail that naturally come with such a historic and prestigious establishment. The atmosphere and setting, as always, were impressive and full of character, which initially set the right expectations. However, we were surprised by the manner in which tea service was delivered. Rather than the traditional presentation one would expect at an afternoon tea service—particularly one associated with your hotel—the tea and coffee were served from large thermos flasks carried from table to table, with staff repeatedly asking “Tea or Coffee?” This approach felt noticeably informal and somewhat at odds with the otherwise refined environment. To add to this, we also expected tea to be served in proper porcelain teapots at the table, as is customary for an afternoon tea experience of this calibre. The absence of this detail further contributed to a sense that the service style did not fully reflect the hotel’s heritage or the pricing of the experience. While we appreciate the operational efficiency such methods may offer, they unfortunately diminished what could have been a more elegant and memorable occasion. At a venue of this reputation, it is often the small ceremonial details—such as individual teapots and table presentation—that define the experience. We share this feedback constructively, in the hope that it may be useful in maintaining the standards and expectations associated with the Pera Palace name.
