Rude greeting on arrival

Liked:The place looked like it had been recently renovated. Everywhere was very clean and smart. The bed was really comfortable and felt like new. The hotel is right in the centre of town, so very convenient.

Disliked:We arrived a little early by bicycle and we were greeted in such a rude manor. I apologised for being early and said that we could come back later. We were told that we were too early and that anyway there was nowhere to leave our bicycles and that we should have emailed to let them know about the bicycles. He implied that we were just an inconvenience to him. My wife got very upset and we left to think about our options. Unfortunately we had already paid the full amount and as it was school holidays we wouldn't have got a room elsewhere in town. We ended up having to leave our bikes locked to railings at the front of the hotel. The owner did soften then and offered us a couple of locks of his own.
