Would not recommend

Liked:This place was a huge disappointment. We booked through Amex expecting a decent experience, but that was not the case. The room was dirty, with trash and hangers just thrown in the closet. The sheets also appeared unclean and had hair and stains on them. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the host. When I arrived, I had no instructions on how to get inside, so I called for help. She insisted that instructions had already been sent, but they had not. She then said that Amex does not provide them with guest email addresses. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, she repeatedly implied that I was mistaken. There was not even an apology for the confusion. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience and far below what we expected.

Good location, disrupted night.

Liked:Good location to enjoy Traveler’s Rest and visit Furman. Unfortunately other guests in the inn were extremely loud and disruptive in the middle of the night and there is no management on site to address same. The house is far from sound proof so the noise was very disruptive. There was also a lot of road noise through the windows. I wanted to like it more but these factors made sleep impossible.

Best stay at swamp rabbit trail

Liked:I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swamp Rabbit Inn TR. I've already told my husband that I would love to build one similar to it. It was so quiet, clean, was beautifully landscaped. Sam was so nice to our family. The one thing that he did which made me feel like he truly cared was when he asked my son, who's a quadriplegic how the couch house worked for him. Most people could care less as long as they get their money. He was open to suggestions so he could make any necessary upgrades. We are ready to go back right now. Thank you Sam for being such a wonderful host.

Host is completely unresponsive - no wifi!

Liked:I really wanted to love this place. It's a perfect location (2 blocks from my son's place) and the house is adorable. But Pam didn't respond to - get this - FIVE of my texts. The first night, I woke up sweating - it was well over 80 degrees in my room (in January!) and then the heat turned on, so I had heat blasting into the room. I couldn't sleep - I was exhausted. The second night was fine, though. Also, the wifi network they told me to join didn't exist. So I texted her about both (where is the thermostat? Which wifi network should I use?). If I had to do some work while there, I would have had to leave and go to a hotel. I really want to be able to stay here, but I guess I will have to go to a hotel every time I visit my son.
