Felt like home after being away for so long..

Liked:What an experience. A huge thank-you to the team at Hotel das Cataratas, especially Verônica at reception and Caique at Y Restaurant. You both made our stay feel that little bit more special through your kindness, warmth and genuine conversations. We love meeting people from all over the world and being able to connect & share stories like this really meant a lot to us. Now, onto the hotel itself.. Absolutely amazing in every aspect. The grounds are spotless & beautifully maintained - from the gym & pool area to the buffet breakfast and rooms. You can really see the level of care and pride the staff take in maintaining the property. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, with very clean bathrooms and everything you need for a relaxed & easy stay. After over a month of travelling, it genuinely felt like a home away from home, which was so appreciated. And the views… absolutely breathtaking. There’s honestly nothing to fault. If you’re considering staying here because of the falls, just do it - it’s worth every cent. Having direct access to the park, shuttle service and the ability to explore so easily made everything seamless. We also loved borrowing bikes and riding through the area it was one of the highlights of our stay. Y Restaurant deserves a special mention. If you’re staying, make sure you book a dinner there. Ask for Caique his service was outstanding. He was attentive without being intrusive, took the time to explain each dish and added such a warm, personal touch to the experience. We ended up having great conversations and learning about each other’s lives, which made the evening even more memorable. Overall, an unforgettable stay in every way. Highly recommended.

Disliked:One small thing to note (nothing to do with the property itself) on arrival, our debit cards didn’t work on the POS system as it seems to only accepts credit cards - there were another guest having the same problem as us at the time. The hotel does have an ATM on site, so it was easy enough to withdraw cash and resolve it. Just something to be aware of for check-in - make sure you have a credit card handy or cash, as I normally travel using debit cards (ING and a few others), this was the first time I’ve had all of them not be accepted at a merchant terminal. Interestingly, they worked at their other property, Copacabana Palace, so it may just depend on the terminal setup.

Superb view and amazing breakfast

Liked:Amazing breakfast, comfy bed and pillows and superb location. Extremely friendly staff. The restaurants are a bit pricey but it is taste with authentic Brazilian touches. The concierge helps with everything you need to make sure you’re enjoying your time there.

Liked:Everything was amazing!! Everything we asked was included in the price what was a very pleasant surprice as it is usually not the case. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a perfect spot in the park to see sunset and sunrise of the falls!!

Please note that the hotel is located in a National Park. Private cars are not allowed in the park area. There is a free shuttle service between the hotel and the park entrance available 24 hours a day, every 20 minutes from 7am to midnight. A private transfer can also be arranged. The entrance fee to the National Park is already included in the daily rate. For more information, please contact the property. All minors under 18 years of age also need to present a valid ID with photo, to prove their identity and that of his/her parents. This must be presented even if a minor is accompanied by his/her parents.
