Liked:The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and in a great location for a first visit to Florence. I would not describe it as a true 4-star luxury property in terms of overall feel or service, but it is pleasant enough for a short stay.

Disliked:The serious issue happened late at night during the stay. We came back to the hotel around 1am after being out at a celebration and was locked outside because there was no one at reception and no one responding despite repeated ringing and calls to the number provided. My mother was left waiting outside for around 20 minutes, and another guest was also locked out and had already been waiting for some time, so this was clearly not an isolated issue. I booked this hotel for my mother with the confidence that a property advertising 24-hour reception would never leave her locked outside late at night with no assistance, especially in an area that feels uncomfortable for tourists after dark. A hotel offering 24-hour reception should have a reliable process in place to ensure guests can always access the property safely, even if a staff member steps away from the desk. What made the situation even more disappointing was how it was handled afterwards. We spent nearly two hours trying to resolve the issue in a calm and reasonable way, but there was no apology, no accountability, and no gesture of compensation despite the hotel reviewing the cameras and being fully aware of what had happened. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but what matters is how a hotel responds when guest safety and peace of mind have clearly been compromised. Unfortunately, in this case, it felt as though they simply did not care about the experience or the safety concerns raised.
