Nice place for a night or two

Liked:Nice stopover - pleasant room with character although rather cramped shower. Nice location just a short walk from the main part of the Avenue Champagne. Good breakfast. Went to Comtesse Lafond just 5 minutes walk which was lovely. Skip Mercier next door which is a massive Disneyland version of a champagne experience.

Just okay

Liked:We recently stayed àt la Villa Eugene while winetasting around the Champagne region and were frankly a bit disappointed. Similar to other reviews, it was not a 5-star experience. The service was okay, the rooms were dated and the public areas were lacking (no real lobby and hallways seemed dusty). The terrace outside the bar consisted of a few tables facing the parking lot. The room itself had a bathtub/shower which was hard to climb into and had a hand-held shower head that was inconvenient. The room itself had dated furniture, bed covers and towels which were hard and scratchy. The location of the hotel is at the far end of Avenue de Champagne which is the farthest from the city center. It’s at least a 20 minute walk and with the heat wave this summer, not terribly pleasant. All in all, the stay was just okay.
