Hospitality!

Liked:We had a great time here and will come back if we get a chance next time we are in the country. Janette, the owner, was very friendly and helpful to me (gringo), my wife (Nicaraguan), and our friend, a Catholic school nun from San Salvador. It was low season, and we got in late, but she kept the bar open and we had a great time talking with her. She’s lived in the States as well as having grown up in ES. The view and grounds cannot be beat. It’s close to the end of the beach, so very quiet, peaceful, and safe as so much of the country is now. The chef was a great guy, came out to make sure things were right. No, it’s not cheap, but I felt things were higher quality than the norm there and the air conditioning was great. Did I mention I’m a gringo? We could only spend about a day and a half before going back to SS. I really wanted to stay longer. These negative reviews really have me scratching my head. I am sure there are huts on the beach where the locals can fry you some fish for a few dollars, but that isn’t what this is. It’s a well-appointed resort style hotel. Por favor. Anyway, there’s some peace down there you won’t get up here in the States. We appreciate the hospitality we were shown at Sambo Mambo!

This place is a complete rip off, deathly horrible service,STAY FAR AWAY!!

Liked:Beware be-very-aware!!!! ****Read the reviews***** SUGGESTION if SAMBOMAMBO hasn't learned anything by now after reading all these horrible reviews... "FIRE THE WOMAN MANAGER!!!" This place is a complete rip off, they are robbing their customers of a pleasant experience, and overcharging clients without their permission. I left with a knot in my stomach and a sour taste in my mouth. First, I'm going to start with the extremely poor customer service on part of the woman in charge. She is completely destroying the place, as she is not communicating with the customers, she is not communicating with her employees,and she is absolutely dishonoring customer satisfaction. Her wait staff are doing upcharges to the customers accounts without their permission. When ordering items from the menu, we were told there was an item unavailable after we already ordered it, when we attempted to make an adjustment the waiter informed us that we could not as a similar item was already being fired in the kitchen without our approval. The waiter informed us that we could speak with the woman in charge, she just completely brushed us off and did not hear what we had to say, she advised No changes at this point . I've worked in the restaurant industry for a long time of my young life and working with computers you can delete/modify orders especially when there is an inconvenience or discrepancy with an item availability. This woman that's in charge doesn't want to hear what you or her employees have to say, when honest issues are brought up. Unfortunately, in her establishment, her customers pay the ultimate price. See for yourself I've attached the menu, prices are through the roof, the portions of food don't match the price value of the food,food availability isn't established and similar items are fired in the kitchen without customer permission. You will either end up leaving hungry, requesting more, or leave extremely upset because as a customer your issues weren't addressed or handled appropriately as you were left reaping the consequences of poor management. She could care less about making changes and more positive experiences for her customers. Good luck, take this as a warning and your feast elsewhere. And as a small business owner I would never treat or handle my customers and employees this way. Honestly, this whole experience during Valentine's Day or any day for that matter makes me so angry inside, this woman can do so much more to make her customers happy, wth is she in business for.

Perfect Place for a Horrible Time

Liked:To all locals and foreigners alike, avoid this place like the plague… which it very well may be harboring. My family and I (including children, elderly, and disabled individuals) planned to stay here for 5 days, but cut our stay after only a single night due to a plethora of issues that the staff were unwilling to recognize: -Rat droppings were found in each of our 5 rooms -A piece of the ceiling in one of the rooms literally fell off in the middle of the night -An honest-to-god scorpion was found in that same room and the staff simply stated “that room hasn’t been used in a while and hasn’t been cleaned or maintained” -The rooms have a rancid smell -The bedding is covered in mold -Water comes out of the tap smelling of metal/rust and has a brownish tint If you are thinking of staying here, save yourself the hassle of having to find emergency accommodations after this place severely disappoints you. We voiced our concerns to the staff, with the “owner” on the phone, but neither were willing to do anything about it. As you can see on other comments on here management doesn’t care about these reviews, so it is simply my hope that I can disuade others from having to experience what we had to. To Sambo Mambo, if you’re going to charge premium prices then try to make your hotel less of a s**t hole.

disgusting place.

Liked:TOURIST DO NOT COME STAY AT SAMBO MAMBO this place is an absolute mess, the food was disgusting and overpriced, costed us $110 dollars for just five people, the hotel rooms are disgusting and the bed sheets were not washed at all, the bed and towels had bugs, and allowed people to smoke at the pool bar while kids where at the pool playing. customer service was awful. if you needed assistance with anything the employees were rude to you for no reason and will not accommodate you in your situation. we asked for the manager and she never showed us her face cause they knew what they did wrong. we left the same day we checked in because of how awful this place was. this was the first time this has happened to us and we will never come to this disgusting place again or recommend this place to anyone. waste of time and money.
