Disliked:Title: My 4-Night Experience at Aleph Doha – This Was Not a 5-Star Experience I rarely write reviews of this nature, but after four nights at Aleph Doha Residences, Curio Collection by Hilton, I believe future guests should know what I experienced. I originally booked because the rate, including breakfast and dinner, looked exceptionally attractive for a Hilton-affiliated 5-star property in Doha. The hotel looked relatively new, the reviews were very positive, and my initial inspection seemed acceptable. Unfortunately, once I checked in, the problems started appearing one after another. First, the wardrobe had a strong fishy/unpleasant smell. Despite reporting it, the problem was never properly resolved. For four nights I had to leave the wardrobe doors open, use only the least affected section and keep much of my clothing outside. My room consequently remained cluttered throughout my stay. More seriously, after my first night I woke up with a rash on my body, including a clearly visible area around my neck, which I photographed. I cannot say whether this was caused by an insect, the bedding or something else. When I showed it to housekeeping, however, the reaction was immediate and the room was subsequently treated by pest control. I retain photographs of the rash. I later discovered something else that prospective guests should be aware of: this hotel allows pets. I personally saw dogs on the premises. I have now verified that Booking.com does indeed list the property as pet-friendly. This may be perfectly acceptable to many guests, but for families who have religious, cultural, allergy or personal concerns regarding animals, this is important information to notice before booking. Then came the minibar refrigerator. The original refrigerator did not cool properly at all. After repeatedly requesting assistance, I returned to my room and found my room door left open. Inside, the replacement refrigerator had been left outside the minibar cabinet.
