Liked:The space was great. Four beds and the living room allowed our family to spread out nicely. Loved the porch of the cottage we were at.

Disliked:The cottage was very outdated. The style of furniture was fine, it was in the 60s era which matched the vibe of the hotel. However, the blinds were broken, the light switches were very spongy, the outlets were also very loose, there was a hole in our bathroom ceiling and a bee got in. The walls needed a fresh coat of paint because clearly the drywall has been patched but never fully finished. For the price of 450$ per night, I would expect things to be more refined. The restaurant was having issues the night we visited for dinner. They were short staffed in the kitchen and it took an hour to get out our meal. When it arrived it lacked flavor. For a restaurant that would like to have the air of being refined dinning, it was lacking.

Overall quite pleasant. With good investment it could be absolutely wonderful.

Liked:Generally very good, friendly staff. Pool area and spa were very good. Bed was excellent and breakfast was fine.

Disliked:Honestly the bathrooms are totally outdated. The last time I saw that was 58 years ago as a teenager. Chef was basically okay but missed on a few things. A couple of waitresses seemed totally untrained. Paper and plastic cups in our room are really bad. We went and bought a couple of glasses.

Liked:Location was ok, breakfast was good

Disliked:Our room was next to the elevator. We were shaking when elevator was going up and down, woke us up at night etc .. very disappointed. Staff was rude at the restaurant (dinner)

Perfect base for whale watching!

Liked:Great location overlooking Digby, my son loved the pool and we all thought the breakfast was great. A few reviews commented on tired rooms but I would more say that they were traditional and went well with this grand large hotel. Lovely playground and outdoor activities. Perfect base for whale watching!

Disliked:We had dinner once in the restaurant and if any complaints at all, the food wasn't to our taste. Breakfast was great though!
