As Good As It Gets

Liked:I can't imagine that there is a nicer inn/hotel in Detroit. This is one of the most beautiful inns we've ever stayed in. Eric and Rachel have done a magnificent job of renovating this historic site. Be sure to ask for a tour. Ample parking, huge rooms, nice breakfast, great location. What more could you ask?

Incredible piece of Detroit's history

Liked:Absolutely amazing place, lovingly restored with wonderful rooms. As a native Detroiter who has lived on the East Coast for years, I was thrilled to be able to stay in such a spectacular piece of the city's history - it made me proud to be a Detroiter (yes, even after many years, Detroit is still "home."). It is the best historic inn we have ever stayed in which is saying a lot since we travel all over New England and stay in New England inns. The innkeepers are incredibly accommodating. They will happily take you through the entire house which is enormous and has at least 6 public rooms, a fantastic foyer, and beautiful art. Very nice breakfast as well. We cannot recommend the Stearns House enough. You have to experience it once in your life! Or more - we'll be coming back the next time we're in Detroit.

A lovely Inn and a Testament to Detroit's Positive Energy

Liked:My Sister and I stayed at this wonderful property. The location of the Frederick Sterns House is excellent if you want to do all things Detroit. It's close to the Institute of Arts, Central Station, Downtown, and Belle Isle. The best surprise was the discovery of the Pewabic Pottery Studio just minutes away. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Rachel who has poured her heart and soul into the Inn's restoration. She gave us a tour and offered us coffee and cookies! We stayed in the Magnolia room which has a separate sitting area and a large, spacious bathroom. The bed was very, very comfortable and relaxing. An added bonus is how quiet the property is as well as the off-street parking. We visit the Detroit area every year and we will definitely return to this Inn. Rachel is an excellent host and helped to make our stay very memorable. Finally, we are so happy to see Detroit and how far it has progressed in recent years. The vibe was so positive and happy.
