A Winter Haven

Liked:We visited Palm Springs for a few days to escape the cold of the Pacific Northwest, and we decided to stay at the Good House in part because of its commitment to being an eco-friendly hotel. It is located in Desert Springs in a quiet, residential neighborhood that is a twenty minute drive from the airport and a forty-five minute drive from Joshua Tree National Park. A large, busy resort with a golf course was not quite what we had in mind, whereas the tranquility and coziness of the Good House suited us perfectly. We thoroughly explored the beautiful grounds, which contained many seating areas in which to read, have a drink, and enjoy the sunshine. The garden itself contains many desert palms and cacti as well citrus trees. There is also a pond with a trickling waterfall. One of the other guests had brought along their dog, which made the compound feel even more like home. We spent each evening around the fire pit chatting about the day and enjoying the freshly-baked cookies. Our rooms were thoughtfully decorated and furnished with large, comfortable beds. There was also a kitchenette for making tea, coffee, or a light snack. On the second day, we had some issues with the hot water and because all the other rooms were occupied, the staff generously relocated us to the villa next door. We absolutely loved the additional space and privacy along with the well-equipped kitchen and the large pool. A pair of ducks came by for a swim on our last day. We will be back to do more hiking in Joshua Tree National Park and we will be sure to stay at the Good House for our next visit. Thank you so much to all the staff for their wonderful hospitality:)

Peaceful Oasis

Liked:The landscaping was absolutely stunning, truly a little oasis in Desert Hot Springs. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the property itself is so cute and quaint. Breakfast was lovely, and the pool and jacuzzi were an absolute delight. Everything about this place was perfect, and it made for such a relaxing, memorable stay.
