Disappointed with everything. But they seem to be a very simple village family

Liked:Booking this place was a big mistake for us. It's for a niched audience only. - The place is near the lake. This was our primary reason for the booking. Although the viewpoint of the lake is around 1-1.5 km from this location. - It is very deep in the jungle in a village area, and also behind their restaurant, so it's very calm and you might see some wild insects. That means this place is for a very niched audience. Visit this place only if you want to stay in a remote area, in the jungle full of wild animals, want to be with a village family (don't expect any professional service), and don't plan to go outside in the evening.

Disliked:- I don't know why this place has so many good reviews but we had our worst experience so far. It is very far from the city and dark roads at night. Totally a village area in the jungle. So it's highly recommended not to visit this place in evening. The listing looks cheap but it's not, cause a tuktuk from sigiriya city to here costs 1600 one way. In return, you get a very basic old style room. - The listing says they have "exceptional free WiFi", but they don't have any WiFi at all. 5G also doesn't work here. - Unfortunately the flash in the washroom didn't work, and the water pressure was too much. We tried contacting them on Booking. com, WhatsApp, and also tried calling them. But no response anywhere. The phone number was unreachable. - There is no lock or handle on the outer side of the washroom door. So you'll have to keep the washroom open the whole day. For us, we never keep the washroom door open. - When we had to leave the next morning, they didn't prepare the breakfast cause they didn't even know what the package included. But they deducted some amounts from the bill.

Jungle location with lots of bird life.

Liked:The host was great. Breakfast was included. The host provided tuktuk transport and suggestions . The jungle location was nice. Very comfortable villa.

Liked:Nice food for dinner

Disliked:The pictures are much better than the real standard.. neglected and quite dirty, holes under the roof don't prevent mosquitoes from entering. Many of them.. Poor breakfast.

Cozy stay and friendly owner

Liked:Homestay as itself is really cozy and chill. Room was clean, with AC, and has enough space for two backpackers. Breakfast was tasty, everyday it has slightly change which was good. You can plan your time of breakfast depending on your activities. In room is water bottle, kettle, tea and coffee so you can make it anytime you want. Location of the homestay is little bit out of town, so you need to use tuktuk all the time you want to go somewhere, but Priya - the owner owns a tuk tuk and he can give you ride. He is really friendly and he was willing to help us (give us ride, pick us up, give a tour) anytime we ask him or texted him :) So far the best stay in Sri Lanka :)
