Lovely property, inaccurate listing, unprofessional host

Liked:The property itself is attractive, spacious, and in a great location. The kitchen and common area were cute and spacious, and the unit has a lot of potential.

Disliked:We arrived at approximately 3:00 PM on September 1 and immediately discovered that the accommodations did not match the listing we booked. The Family Suite was advertised as having 2 separate bedrooms, 2 seperate living areas, and 3 beds: 1 king, 1 queen, and 1 twin. The unit provided had only 2 actual beds. The supposed “twin bed” was a folding cot stored in a closet, which is not what was advertised or what I booked for my family. I contacted the host immediately upon discovering the discrepancy. During that call, the host first tried to tell me that I had booked the wrong room. When I explained that my confirmation clearly showed the room configuration I reserved, she became dismissive and told me there was “nothing she could do for me” and that I needed to contact Booking.com directly. I contacted Booking.com immediately. Booking.com advised me that the listing had been edited after they contacted the host and specifically requested screenshots from my booking confirmation showing the original room details, as well as photographs of the unit we actually received. I provided all of the requested screenshots and photos. I also provided video documentation of a bathroom light that repeatedly flickered and turned on and off. After reviewing the documentation, Booking.com advised me that the accommodations provided did not match the listing I booked and requested that the stay be refunded. Booking.com also advised me that the host stated the “twin bed” was in the closet and then stopped communicating with them while they were attempting to resolve the issue. The matter was subsequently escalated internally through Booking.com. Because the accommodations provided did not match what we reserved, would not appropriately accommodate our party, and we no longer felt comfortable remaining at the property, my children and I left and obtained accommodations elsewhere. We did not stay at the property.
