Liked:“Sublime Comporta enjoys a remarkable location, immersed in unspoiled nature. The rooms offer an excellent level of equipment, and the breakfast is one of the highlights of the stay.”

Disliked:“However, several points significantly affected our experience. We received no information prior to our stay, which is problematic because the property is actually divided into two distinct areas separated by a road: Terracotta and Sand, the newer section, which is still surrounded by construction zones (particularly near the padel and tennis courts). The services lack fluidity: getting around the property is complicated without a car, shuttles are difficult to book, and the staff—although friendly—is not sufficiently trained for an establishment of this category. The rates are those of a 5‑star hotel, but the organisation and quality of service are not yet aligned with that promise. As an events industry professional, I consider the property unsuitable for corporate stays or for groups requiring flawless organisation.

Overall ok experience considering 1300 euros per night. Staff has to improve.

Liked:Facilities, rooms in general. Everything was very clean.

Disliked:Staff. Some couldn’t even speak proper English. For instance, even though we had booked a dolphin watching experience from long before our arrival twice, once we drove to the location from our hotel which took half an hour - the tour had already left. Apprently, they informed us the time of departure wrong which they later accepted. When we had dinner at beefbar, the waitress could not explain us the meat section at all. There just some examples we faced.

Liked:Excellent facilities throughout, including a first-rate gym. The layout and design create a genuine sense of luxury. The restaurants are top tier. Bicycles for moving around the property are a nice touch.

Disliked:Several preventable failures, all traceable to poorly trained or poorly informed staff: 1. Restaurant booking and availability On our first night we asked staff about dinner options and settled on the Italian restaurant. We asked whether a booking was required and were told we could simply show up. We arrived at 19h30 with another couple to find the restaurant closed on Mondays. The steak restaurant was fully booked, so we ended up eating at the bar. Staff should know the opening days and booking requirements of the property’s own restaurants. 2. Room upgrade confusion We requested a larger room with a bathtub and were told it was arranged. The cleaning team then told us we could not move, while reception insisted the room was ready. The room contained a welcome card and a cot intended for a different family. When I pointed out this series of errors to the staff member who eventually assisted us, his response was “it wasn’t ME who made these mistakes”. That is not an acceptable response from anyone representing the property. 3. Anniversary surprise spoiled I arranged a bouquet and a private dinner for our anniversary via WhatsApp with your team. Staff then messaged my fiancé directly on his phone, revealing the surprise. The card accompanying the flowers read “Happy Birthday” instead of “Happy Anniversary”. 4. Shuttle booking The staff member handling the Beach Club shuttle repeatedly pressed us to commit to the earliest possible return time, despite my explaining that we had not visited before and would confirm once there. As shuttles return on the half hour until 22h30, this pressure was unnecessary and inappropriate. We are not seeking compensation. We are sharing this so management can address the training and communication gaps before they affect other guests.
