Liked:Review We stayed at the Opal Sands, Clearwater Beach, June 9-13, 2026. We chose this hotel for its location and we have stayed at another Opal property in Delray Beach, FL multiple times. We have always loved staying at the Opal in Delay Beach! Check in was easy. Our room wasn’t ready so they held our bags and we walked around the property. Probably an hour later, I got a text saying the room was ready. Room was a king bed with an ocean view. During check in, the staff also told me I had a $50 resort credit. We charged a lot to the during the stay. Upon check out, they said the $50 was applied but won’t see it on the itemized list. They said it was just applied to one of the room charges. Seriously, you can’t just add it to the itemized list, a $50 credit. I charged so much to the room I don’t even remember at this point how much everything cost. Plus the gentleman at the desk wasn’t even sure where it was applied. Each morning we went to the Marketplace in the Opal Sol. The women working there were super friendly and remembered us each day. We used the Spa in the Sol for 90 minute couple massages. Very clean and the massages were perfect. Only downfall is the locker rooms only have one shower. So if there is multiple people in the locker room you have to wait. The Spa had a pool deck. We checked it out but did not sit out there as there wasn’t much shade. Two days into our stay I inquired at the front desk about a late check on our day of departure. They told me I’d have to check in the morning of departure and they’d let me know. Each day we sat out at the pool at the Opal Sands. The pool staff were amazing especially Julian. He’d come over and put the towels on our chairs, and open the umbrellas. He was definitely observant and would walk by asking if you needed anything. Very hard workers. On my day of departure I went to the front desk at approximately 6:50am and inquired again about a late check out. The gentleman could not give me an answer as he said housekeeping had not come in yet. He stated he would text me after 7am and let me know. By 7:15am I texted the desk again inquiring and got a very quick response saying they could not accommodate a late check out. Feeling this was an automated response at approximately 8:20am I checked with Hannah at the front desk and asked. She immediately said No we can’t have a late check out as the hotel is sold out. She said best the can do is hold our bags for us. At that time for my own curiosity I checked the Opal Sands website and it showed multiple available rooms in Kings, Doubles, and Suites. I find it disappointing they couldnt offer a late check out and feel the hotel doesn’t want to do them. It’s on the website stating if available they will accommodate. Think a hotel should know prior to the morning of if they can accommodate a late check out. Knowing in the future they don’t offer late check outs m I’ll have to reevaluate staying here or at other Opal resorts. It’s too bad Opal Resorts doesn’t offer some type of rewards program for loyal guests, like all the major hotel chains.

My Favorite Place in the World!

Liked:My Favorite Place in the World! I recently completed my fourth stay at Opal Sands Resort, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. This time, I stayed in a Spacious King – Gulf Front room, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the endless turquoise waters of the Gulf and watching the sunset from my balcony felt like a little piece of heaven. Everything about this resort is exceptional. The amenities are top-notch, the beach is beautiful and easily accessible, and the location is perfect for enjoying everything Clearwater Beach has to offer. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, strolling along the beach, or taking in the incredible ocean views, Opal Sands creates an experience that is both luxurious and peaceful. I traveled to Clearwater for the Clearwater Jazz Jam, and staying at Opal Sands made the trip even more memorable. The resort offers the perfect combination of comfort, elegance, and convenience. After four visits, I can confidently say this is my favorite place in the world. Every stay feels special, and I find myself looking forward to the next visit before I’ve even checked out. If you’re considering a stay in Clearwater Beach, do yourself a favor and book Opal Sands—you won’t be disappointed.
