Very disappointing for the price

Liked:Great location. Walking distance to many restaurants.
Disliked:Part of the ceiling in our room had a giant crack and looked like it was going to fall. The shower water was either scalding hot or ice cold. There was no in between. I mentioned it to the front desk and the lady at the desk was very rude.

Treated like a criminal

Liked:I want to share a serious incident that happened to me at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza on April 21, 2026. I was on official business travel. I had reservations at Embassy Hilton, I was moved to this hotel without my consent due to overbooking. After checking in with valid ID, I was later accused of fraud because the hotel attached the WRONG Hilton rewards account to my reservation. Instead of verifying the issue professionally, security dressed in plain clothes pounded on my door, refused to leave when I asked, and later took photos of me on his personal phone. I was told multiple times that police were on the way and that I was part of a “serious investigation.” Multiple people were involved, I asked numerous times what the issue was. The manger said the police would explain more when they get there. I told them I had chest pains and I needed to know what was going on and they did nothing but to continue to question me. I asked the manager if I could show him my travel orders and my work id and he goes upstairs with me to my room and his face turns so red, but he continues to tell me the police is coming. I even told him a coworker was on sight that could identify me and they said they didn’t want to involve more people. After HOURS of stress and confusion, the hotel admitted it was THEIR mistake. This is not just bad customer service—this is a failure in safety, judgment, and accountability. Had the nerve to say they will use this as training. The hotel was so dirty. No guest should be treated like this. @HiltonHotels — this deserves more than a simple apology.

Had the absolute WORST experience here causing us to end our stay early. Will never return!

Liked:Had the absolute WORST experience here causing us to end our stay early. Will never return! The story is ridiculous, bullet points to avoid an essay. *Line was over an hour to check in. *Deluxe room (paid extra for) was still not ready by housekeeping 90 minutes after check in started (530pm) despite a confirmed check in 4 hours earlier via phone with the same staff at 130pm same day. *Forced to take a standard room instead of Delux room we paid for w/o compensation or refund of price difference. *Standing water in shower / drained slowly over-night. * Maintenance called THREE times the following morning to repair the overflowing toilet. Five (5) hours later they eventually told us they couldn't fix it and we would have to change rooms. *Front desk told Expedia they had no room available to switch us to, forcing us to cancel plans and leave a day earlier. (They initially acted like they had a room for us (still not a deluxe because I asked), but when I contacted Expedia to discuss everything we were going through and their rep called to confirm the issues, Max then told them they didn't have a room for us at all.) *Poor customer service / was told to go through Expedia for any issues or refunds since that is who I booked with instead of Hilton directly. Staff attitude seems to look down on you when you don't book with Hilton direct (I.E. Front desk clerk MAX). *Breakfast bar was out of most everything, or it was dried and old. Only one server for tables on a Sunday morning (w. a sold out hotel night the day prior) so no service to order outside of the laughable buffet. All yogurts had expired in early March, several weeks prior to our stay at the end of April. ($25.00 PP cost - we were given "tickets" since we had a downgraded room. I would be even more incensed if we had paid that cost for it!) *No parking - attached garage is $37 per day or $47 per day for valet (Use the garage across the street or down the block to save money) *Six elevators but only 1-3 working at a time. Wait time for elevators is very long at check-in. *Very dingy, outdated, dirty, decor. Carpet needs replacing or at least cleaned, upholstery in sitting and dining areas is ripped, torn, stained, and peeling. Chairs in the rooms are stained, especially office chairs. No updated tech for charging phones if you use a USB-C cord. Better bring a brick and plug it into the floor outlet. *Room refrigerator barely works *No microwaves in room *Flat hard pillows and plastic-like sheets/comforters *Advertises room service online but doesn't have it. *Pool has been closed since 2018 *No vending machines on individual floors, forcing you to spend money in the pricey gift shop instead. (3 regular soda bottles were $12)
