Great photos for the Gram but you don’t want to stay here.

Liked:Deceivingly cute.

Disliked:Do not be fooled by the photos. It’s a motel. It’s incredibly noisy. Zero insulation so you hear absolutely everything. You have to keep the windows open for air because there is no A/C in Carmel so you hear ALL the guest chatting and walking by all the time because everyone has to keep their windows open for air and some resorting to propping their doors open. This is a basic cheap motel with lipstick on it. All cosmetic with no improvements to the actual motel apart from cute furnishings and misleading instagram photos . Noisy fridge placed 2 feet from bed and a fan that you can’t use because it rattles. The hotel is very cute looking, tastefully decorated, has comfortable beds with decent bedding but it’s still a not suited for a good night rest and certainly not fit to be called a boutique hotel. If you’re charging $400- $700 a night we’re gonna expect more!

Carmel is our "happy place". We had a wonderful time outside of the noise issues at LPP.

Liked:Breakfast was wonderful! Great friendly staff and service. Fresh delicious food! We are dairy allergic, so we appreciated the non dairy options. Everything was clean and we liked the decor. The patio was clean and inviting.We loved the location to town.

Disliked:We would never stay there again for a few reasons. For the price point we were disappointed in the noise!! The loud party atmosphere in the court yard, (right outside our windows) that we had to complain about all three nights was ridiculous. The room above us was very noisy. (It really sounded like they moved every piece of furniture) until 10:30. And we hated the "music" (speakers outside our windows) that was blaring from 8-8! It was not restful. We also felt it very invasive to have cookies brought into our room (with singing) even though we expressed our allergy to them.

Budget Hotel Experience at a Premium Price

Liked:I recently stayed at Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave in Carmel, and unfortunately the experience did not meet the standard I expected from this property. The stay began poorly. Although check-in is listed as 3:00 p.m., our room was not ready until approximately 4:15–4:20 p.m. After finally getting into the room, I requested an additional rug and towel because the bathroom floor had become wet after showering. Instead of simply providing the items requested, the maid repeatedly came in and out of the room, creating unnecessary disruption and slamming the door in a way that felt aggressive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, she did not even leave the requested towel and mat. So, I had to walk to the front desk and ask for the items, so that I would have a clean towel. Now let’s talk about the room. The room looks great. However, it has significant noise issues. The walls are paper thin. You can literally hear the upstairs and adjacent neighbors walking around. I have never stayed in a luxury hotel where you can literally hear people walking. Not acceptable. In order to sleep, I had to use the white noise soundtrack on Spotify. Now let’s talk about the breakfast. Let me be clear, I never expect much from a free breakfast. The only thing I really need is coffee, so that I can get my day started. Well, good luck. For some reason, the hotel has decided that instead of having drip coffee readily accessible, through a carafe, or someone who can pour it for you. I had to wait for 15 minutes, until I finally found a café staff person, who eventually went to the back and poured me some drip coffee. Not ok, for an upscale hotel. Overall, the stay was disappointing across several basic hospitality points: delayed room readiness, poor handling of a simple guest request, disruptive service, noise issues, and disorganized breakfast service. I understand that hotels can have occasional operational challenges, but the combination of these issues materially affected the quality of the stay. You can find much better hotels in Carmel, at way better prices.
