Pleasantly surprised

Liked:We had been staying in Air BnBs for most of our 30-day road trip, so I wasn’t really looking forward to staying for three days in a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the Residence Inn in downtown Buffalo. What I liked: The room was very spacious. The bed and pillows were about the most comfortable on our 30-day trip. The hotel and the room itself were very quiet. I always appreciate having a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator. The breakfast was reasonably good for a hotel, self-serve breakfast and it was nice not having to spend an addition $5 for a cup of coffee or $25 for breakfast. They actually provided housekeeping, a rarity since Covid. Free parking, free parking, free parking. What I didn’t like: The draperies were opened and closed with a remote, which didn’t work 75 percent of the time. Does everything have to be automated and if so, please get it to work. The first night the room temperature was comfortable. The next two nights it was HOT. We turned off our heat, and while it was 40 degrees or lower outside, our room was still 75. I think they overheat the hallways and that heat seeps into the rooms. The television was not good, and, again, the remote was finicky. You had to continually press buttons that wouldn’t work. Somewhat minor issues (except the heat thing) and I'd stay here again.

This hotel is a good, dependable choice

Liked:Our experience at the Residence Inn by Marriott Buffalo Downtown was very comfortable and straightforward. The accommodation was highly satisfactory; the room itself was notably spacious, and the soft bedding ensured a relaxing night's sleep. A major benefit is that a breakfast is included with all booking options, which proves to be an excellent feature, especially considering the lack of readily available restaurants and cafes in the surroundings. For quick supply needs, having a Walmart nearby was also quite convenient. Overall, everything was well-maintained and comfortable, serving its purpose well as a reliable, non-premium option.
