Extremely disappointed

Liked:We arrived at the Sheraton to find the lobby completely overwhelmed, with approximately 200 students crowded into the space, despite having booked our room over a month in advance and being a loyal Marriott member. From check-in through the stay, the experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a smooth check-in process or to actually receive the room they reserved. I booked a king bedroom and checked in at 4:00 PM. After being told there would be a delay, I received no communication or updates whatsoever regarding room availability. After waiting two hours, I had to return to the front desk myself to ask for an update, only to be assigned a double-bed room at 6:00 PM—not the room I booked or paid for. While I was initially understanding of the delayed check-in, the lack of communication combined with a two-hour wait and failure to honor my reservation is beyond disappointing. When I spoke with the manager, the only “compensation” offered was lounge access for snacks and juice, which does not begin to make up for the chaos, inconvenience, or poor handling of the situation. This experience fell well below Marriott standards and reflects a serious breakdown in organization, communication, and customer service.

Reconnecting with the renovated Boston,

Liked:I did not order breakfast. The restored lobby is very welcoming! I really like the contemporary look and wide open spaces with many separate seating areas.. Excellent quality furnishings. I will be making arrangements for visitors to meet me at the hotel bar to socialize. Very inviting.The person who checked me in possessed the professional qualities that one should expect from a first class hotel. However, unfortunately, that friendliness, patience, and efficiency is not as commonplace at other hotels as I would like. Great staff! The Sheraton Boston may become my first choice hotel. I used to live in the Boston area. Now I come in town from time to time because of family and friends.. This is a great location for me. To finish about the room, the decor of the room was contemporary—especially the bathroom. I had not seen a vent directly over the shower before. It worked very well. The bed was very comfortable. I am glad you came back operationally after COVID. The area was a ghost town.
Disliked:The coffee station was B quality. Starbucks coffee is good. However, I would never use the packaged powder creamer. Only two containers of liquid cream were left. I needed more for my two cups of coffee during my overnight stay. Stevia is also a preferred natural sweetener. I carried my own shower cap, but that is expected. Not expensive . Had I stayed longer than overnight, I may have wanted a desk chair.
