Memories for a Lifetime

Liked:We received a stay at Casa Ruffino as a 50th anniversary gift and it was perfect. There are less than ten rooms at the resort and it seems that all the staff knew we were coming- what a pleasant way to start! Arriving mid-morning, we had a vineyard/winery tour and tasting hosted by the heralded Alexander before heading to Ruffino's sister property- Castle Montemasso- for a cooking lesson and lunch. WOW- what a wonderful time. With the guidance of Gianna and Ilya we prepared a great meal and then dined in the castle hall. We drank a nice prosecco while in the kitchen and then, over lunch, Alexander led us thru three more of Ruffino's wines, including a delicious Vin Santo with almond biscuits right out of the oven. Over the next two days we ate like royalty at the gourmet Tre Rane restaurant on site, relaxed, walked around the vineyards and sipped more wine.

Rufino visit

Liked:Clean, looks and smells fresh. We were more relaxed upon arrival in the rain when Francesco welcomed us warmly and helped with suitcases to get up the stairs. We slept well helped no doubt by the quiet surroundings and clean rooms. Breakfast was included with eggs made to order. Staff at the enoteca could’nt understand English as we tried to taste n but a bottle for the dinner on site. Same wine fetched 50€ more in the restaurant on-site compared with the wine shop which featured a Xmas sale.

Perfect relaxing stay

Liked:we were 2 couples in our 50's on a wine trip and the property is an absolute gem, with amazing staff and customer service. It was all safe post covid. The rooms are large and only 7 so you get a whole large property for only a few. The pool area is lovely and cleaned daily. Breakfast is excellent as is the onsite restaurant. This property exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend. The location is perfect and lovely and so quiet. You can do wine tasting on site which was a lovely activity plus you get 10% off the wine shop. We had a lovely stay and just perfect if you love wine. I would 100% recommend the property. The staff are a great assets and we really appreciated them. Thank you to all

Fantastic relaxing stay in beautiful setting

Liked:We weren’t sure what to expect with this hotel as it is really difficult to find much information about it and so few reviews (and having to book through booking.com), but we were so pleased with this hotel. The staff were really nice and helpful, in explaining about the hotel and booking us taxis for our departure and really friendly. The scenery is beautiful and as there are so few rooms it feels really exclusive and private around the hotel and pool area. The pool was really scenic looking out onto the vineyards, and it really is somewhere really peaceful and relaxing. We also did a wine tour which was really informative and interesting and a real highlight, learning about how the different wines are made and a tour of the cellar, followed by a tasting of wines and some really fresh and high quality meats to accompany. Breakfast was also lovely and tailored for COVID with the staff serving you, and a good choice of fresh fruit, meat, cheese, juices and some really tasty homemade cakes which varied each day. Only downside is the restaurant was shut on Tuesday and this meant we had to eat at a local restaurant which was incredibly expensive to get a taxi to (€40 each way as coming from Florence city) but there was no other option. The restaurant within this hotel itself was lovely on the night we did eat there, with a beautiful outside terrace to enjoy the view and was our best value meal all holiday for the tasting menu.
