Under the radar and worth it.

Liked:The location was great and perfect for our family. We booked two rooms for the five of us, and one room had a trundle bed, which was perfect for our 7 year old son. There was plenty of closet space and the rooms felt very cozy. Having parking on site was a big plus, and it was an easy walk into town, under five minutes. Everything was close and convenient. Breakfast was spot on.

Total False Advertising and Poor Management Choice: Dark Basement Room Advertised as Ground Floor

Liked:Only one reason for this one star, which I’ve never given on a review. Totally false advertising—we reserved a “ground floor” room — $1k for two nights — and arrived to find a basement room w a filthy half window looking out into the ground above. No natural light. When we asked to be moved to a room above ground, the management denied that it was sub ground (??) and said we’d need to pay an extra $300 to have an actual above ground room. The air conditioning was also very weak. On the other hand, it was very clean and the breakfast service was very nice. Had the management handled this as they should have, it would have been a different review.

Don’t stay in room 301

Liked:Room 301 has a queen bed and they also say this room has a pull out sofa so it is a little more expensive. DO NOT GET THIS ROOM! The pullout sofa is basically unusable as it is very uncomfortable. I contacted Vacasa and all they could say was “sorry, we don’t have an extra mattress to put in the sofa”. Well silly me guess I’m out of luck and them not even offering any compensation or anything. Oh well just won’t stay here again.

Booking SNAFU turned Kafkaesque by bad customer service

Liked:I didn't end up staying here; they cancelled my reservation 2 days before I was due to arrive. WARNING: This property is run by a company called Vacasa, whose customer service is generally clueless (it doesn't help that most of their agents seem not to have a full command of the English language). Anyway, my story is that Vacasa apparently had some sort of computer "glitch" and accidentally booked me for a hotel in Missouri instead of Aspen Mountain Lodge. WTF? Vacasa customer support tried to blame it on hotels.com. hotels.com reassured me that my booking in Aspen was valid, but in the end, Vacasa cancelled my reservation less than 2 days before I was due to arrive, and told me it was impossible to rebook. I did at least receive a refund, but what a bizarre experience.
