Broken AC and rude nonresponsive host

Disliked:As soon as we got in the front door and walked up the stairs it was miserably hot. I opened the door and went for the ac first which was set to 67 but reading 85 degrees. I tried to contact the host who didn't answer my first 3 attempts and then said she would get back to me in 10 minutes once she contacted the AC people. She did not. I messaged her several other times and she finally started responding rudely. It wasnt until I said we were leaving that she claimed it was going to be fixed. We ended up having to book another house last minute, missed dinner, and put us back at least 3 hours behind schedule. We couldn't do anything not knowing if we had a place to sleep.Then she refused to refund it. I would not book here again obviously. She continued to message me after we were gone and claim it was fixed FYI, again, with a rude tone. I do believe she was lying because there is no way it was a simple issue to fix. The air was out in the hallway as well. The AC unit in the closet was filthy like 10 years worth of dust so I am not totally surprised it wasnt working. Expensive lesson to learn not to book homes through booking.com who were also not helpful and would not issue a refund.
