Fabulous hotel, which exceeded our expectations.

Liked:Location was an easy walk from train station and easy walk to all the sights. Beautiful building which had been tastefully but modernly updated. Staff were helpful and offered us a complimentary drink upon arrival. Our room was spacious, spotless with a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. We will definitely return if we are visiting Amsterdam again.

We had a 24 hour stopover in Amsterdam. This was a perfect place to stay - ideal location.

Liked:Great location 7 minutes walk from Central Station. Nice large room. Pleasant bar. Friendly staff.

Beautiful historic rooms with excellent service in a great location

Liked:Good location, but plan on about a 15-minute walk from the central train station—everything looks closer on the map than it is in reality. The reception area is relatively small, and guests have breakfast in the same space where people check in. This is most likely because the building is old, special, and protected (historic). We stayed in a Superior Double room. The rooms are truly an experience: large windows, high ceilings, and very nice design, including the bathroom. The view from the windows is better than you would expect when you first enter the hotel. Breakfast is perfectly fine, though you might expect a wider selection at a 4-star hotel. The air conditioning worked perfectly—quiet and kept the temperature just right, which was especially nice when it was 90°F (32°C) outside. The receptionists were very sweet and knowledgeable, and the service was excellent throughout.

The best hotel stay I have ever had, in any continent - excellent staff; huge, comfortable rooms.

Liked:I genuinely loved everything about this hotel. It was a short bus ride or walk from Centraal Station, as well as a quick walk throughout Centrum. Every member of the staff was friendly, helpful, and easy to talk with. The breakfast buffet was absolutely worth the extra money, offering fresh fruits, pastries, meats, and a kitchen that made such delicious Poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes) that I ordered them everyday. My room was one of the best I have stayed in - massive, with a King bed, high ceilings, large bathroom, and a stunning view of the water. The lobby was charming, and served as a great spot during breakfast, but also to relax in the afternoons, and I even grabbed Surinamese takeout and had it there with the staff offering plates and utensils.

Disliked:Nothing, this was the best hotel stay I have ever had. I stayed at other hotels during my trip including in Tallinn and another in Amsterdam on my layover before returning home. My stay at the Leonardo was so bad I considered travelling back to the Hedrick's to tell the staff how much better it is.
