Awful

Liked:The location was good for access but we got put in a room right in the basement where everyone could look in, and the aircon in the room did not work properly and the towels provided were not big enough for after shower use. The cleaning service was something you had to book so this was not up to normal hotel standards. The shower was not easy to use and there was no proper door so it would flood the bathroom. The staff were nice but when we checked out the older man behind the counter came out and fully shouted at us saying “that room is an awful mess and have some self respect. I expected better from you” he then made us clean up in the room or pay €150 euro fine for a normal amount of litter left in the room that hotel staff and cleaning staff would expect. He was incredibly rude. Will not be coming back

Not a 4* hotel, too expensive for the value it provides

Liked:Location, nice kitchen.

Disliked:Windows barelly open, room was smelly,, carpet dirty. too expensive. This is not a 4 star hotel, maybe 2 star..

Location and breakfast were good although the room was tiny and hot.

Disliked:Room was too narrow/tight although pricey. It was too hot inside and the noisy AC portable machine didn't solve the issue.

Great location, not great for gluten free breakfast.

Liked:Reception staff were very helpful. There were free ice lollies in the freezer in the lobby. You get a WhatsApp message from the hotel when you've checked in saying you can reply to that if there is anything you need, as well as being able to go to reception. Great location for East walking from Leidseplein where the airport or station buses go to, grocery stores, Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark with lots of birds, Rijksmuseum, Rose and Vanilla GF cafe, Der Italiaan restaurant and other cafes and we walked to Anne Frank's house too which was a bit further. Nice and quiet despite being so central to attractions.

Disliked:The breakfast was very limited for my daughter who has coeliac disease so cannot eat wheat. There was fruit and we were brought out some gluten free 'bread' covered in clingfilm which was inedible. When I explained to the waitress about coeliac disease and showed her a Dutch alert card I had, she said we could choose what we were able to eat, but she didn't know what any ingredients were because it was all made off site. The sign above the food seemed to just say all the food could contain any allergens. My daughter risked some yoghurt (although she is lactose intolerant so that gives her tummy ache) and a bit of ham. Be careful with how hot the hot tap water is, but I think that might be common in the Netherlands.
