Don't stay here

Disliked:Coffee & Tea, lack of fridge & safe. No fire escape plan, and no idea how to turn the alarm off. Communication of staff very poor especially when alarm is in a foreign language telling us to exit. Fire escape doors should not be locked. No appreciation of health and safety.

Great hotel, great location, good value.

Liked:Great location - right next to the train station. You. Can use the metro (about 30-40 mins into central Amsterdam) or you can catch one of the trains (approx 20 minutes, or 6 minutes if you take the Sprinter). There’s also a Spar shop outside, and a restaurant if you don’t fancy going into the centre. The breakfast was acceptable - I wouldn’t have paid for it, but given it is free for all guests it was more than sufficient. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Really high level of spoken English (which is typical for this region). The room was clean and tidy.

Disliked:There is a group of ‘interesting’ men who like to gather outside the hotel socialising. They are a bit intimidating when you come back of an evening.
